Handheld FT-IR Spectrometer as a Quality Control Tool for Determination of SBS Content in Asphalt Binder and RAP Content in Plant Mixes

This one-day workshop is divided into two sessions:

o 10:00am-11:15am: Session 1 – Test methods for prediction of SBS content (%) in modified asphalt binder using a handheld FT-IR spectrometer along with demonstration and validation.

o 1:00pm-2:15pm: Session 2 – Test methods for measuring RAP content (%) in asphalt mixes using the same device along with demonstration and validation involving RAP mixes from ten different projects and five different asphalt plants.

Two professional development hours will be provided.
